Update: Woman hit by RT light rail is identified by coroner

The identity of a woman who was struck and killed by a light-rail train Monday morning has been released by the Sacramento County Coroner's office.

She was identified as Lorie Christine Muma, 47, of Sacramento.

Her death occurred about 6:30 a.m. on the tracks along Folsom Boulevard near Mercantile Drive, just east of the Sunrise station. A Regional Transit spokeswoman said Muma was walking a bicycle on the tracks.

Crossing arms were down at Mercantile Drive and bells were ringing when she walked into the path of the train, the RT spokeswoman said.
