Authorities say three people were injured, two seriously, when an SUV driven by a woman in her 70s plowed into a restaurant's outdoor seating area in Auburn, according to an Associated Press report.
The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. Monday at Tio Pepe in the Placer County city.
Police told local TV stations in Sacramento one man who was eating on the patio of the Mexican restaurant became pinned under the SUV. Two other people were also injured and taken to hospitals.
Police are investigating what caused the crash.
