A 25-year-old woman was in surgery this evening after being dropped off at Sutter Memorial Hospital with gunshot wounds.
Sacramento County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Jason Ramos said the Sacramento Police Department was contacted by the hospital after the the woman was dropped off there by someone in a vehicle. The vehicle was found to be registered to an owner with an address on Lincoln Village Drive, in the Sheriff's Department's jurisdiction.
Ramos said the woman's husband later returned to the hospital, where he was detained by police. He provided information indicating that the shooting had occurred in the 9800 block of Lincoln Village Drive.
Ramos said sheriff's deputies have found evidence of a shooting at that location and are conducting and investigation. He said investigators are interviewing the husband and have yet to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
