Update: Light-rail service is restored at Watt Avenue after suspicious package is detonated

Light-rail train service, which was temporarily suspended near Watt Avenue this morning as officials investigated a suspicious suitcase, has been restored.

The suspicious suitcase was discovered around 7 a.m. along an access road between two Regional Transit stations: Watt/I-80 and Watt/I-80 West. A bus shuttle was temporarily put in in place to get passengers to a station where trains are still operating.

Law enforcement bomb experts detonated the suitcase and the train service began operating again at about 9 a.m.
