Man arrested in November sexual assault in Antelope

Demarea+Brown+mugshot.jpgA 21-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman on the campus of an Antelope-area school last November.

Demarea Brown (pictured) was taken into custody today at his Sacramento County residence and was booked into Sacramento County Jail on suspicion of felony offenses related to the assault, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

About 8:30 p.m. Nov. 25, a 19-year-old woman was walking around Olive Grove Elementary School in the 7900 block of Firestone Way when she was approached by a man who engaged her in a brief conversation. The two then went their separate ways, but moments later, while the woman was still on the campus, the man approached her again, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her before leaving on foot.

An investigation led to identification of Brown as the suspect, and sheriff's officials said the victim later identified him as her assailant. Detectives executed a search warrant at Brown's residence, where they found evidence linking him to the incident, according to the release.

Brown is being held in lieu of $1,210,000 bail.
