Update: Sacramento police investigating man's death as homicide

Sacramento police confirmed today that the death of a man whose body was found in a Pocket-area apartment this morning is being investigated as a homicide.

The man, identified only as 30 years old, was discovered inside an apartment on the 8000 block of Pocket Road by friends who hadn't heard from him in awhile, said police Officer Michele Gigante.

The friends found him unconscious inside the apartment. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, and called police. The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, Gigante said.

It was not immediately clear how long the man had been inside the apartment, Gigante said.

Detectives are investigating. No suspects have been arrested.
