Taser used on man before Sacramento booking on drug, theft charges

Anthony Mancuso, 37.JPGA man had to go to the hospital as a precaution after police had some difficulty in bringing him under control.

Officers made a traffic stop of Anthony M. Mancuso, 37, near Acacia Avenue and Clay Street in the Hagginwood neighborhood of Sacramento about 4 p.m. Sunday. Once stopped, Mancuso ran from officers.

Police said at one point he tried to reach into his pants and was not complying with the commands of officers. An officer used a Taser to gain control of Mancuso.

The vehicle he had been driving was confirmed to be stolen, police said. Police said he was arrested on suspicion of possession of burglary tools, motor vehicle theft, heroin and hypodermic needle possession and resisting arrest.
