Teenager arrested in February sexual assault

A 15-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with a sexual assault on a woman in February.

About 6:15 p.m. Feb. 6, the youth allegedly entered an apartment in the 4900 block of El Paraiso Avenue on south Sacramento County, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department news release. The resident, a woman in her 60s, tried to escape but was overpowered by the youth, who is accused of sexually assaulting her. The teenager allegedly stole money and other items from the woman before fleeing.

Sheriff's officials said the youth, who has not been named because he is a juvenile, was taken into custody at a residence Tuesday. He was booked on suspicion of robbery, burglary, forcible rape, elder abuse and injury to a telephone line.
