The woman who reported finding her 53-year-old roommate dead in their south Sacramento home Tuesday has been taken into custody, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department.
The woman, 45-year-old Linda Gabaldon, was found to be in violation of the terms of her parole, said sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos. She was not arrested on suspicion of murder.
Earlier today, the Sacramento County Coroner's office identified the victim as 53-year-old Rebecca H. Brau.
Shortly before 4 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff's deputies responded to a residence in the 5900 block of Mascot Avenue regarding a shooting victim. A woman had called saying that she had returned home to find her roommate shot to death inside the residence, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.

Brau, declared dead at the scene, had multiple gunshot wounds to her upper body.
Sheriff's officials said Brau's body was in a bedroom of the home. Investigators have not developed any information regarding suspects.
