Two men were arrested by Sacramento police for stealing wine on Monday.

Officers were patrolling about 9 a.m. near Meadowgate Drive in South Sacramento when they saw a vehicle "lurch" into traffic. The officers pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and the driver stayed at the car.

However, the passenger ran, carrying what was described as "box of wine," according to a police activity log. It was quickly determined that the men had robbed a store.

Responding officers eventually caught up with the man with the wine. An officer suffered a minor injury while taking Jerome Wells, 35, (pictured right) into custody.

The driver was identified as 45-year-old Jonathan Reed (pictured left). Both men were arrested on suspicion of robbery.
