Bank robber sought by Elk Grove police

Elk Grove.JPGElk Grove police need help in identifying a robber in a wide-brimmed hat who held up a bank last week.

Police said the man entered the River City Bank, 8923 Elk Grove Blvd., at about 2:30 p.m. Thursday and handed a note demanding money to a teller. The teller gave him an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber left the bank.

He was last seen running west on Elk Grove Boulevard. The suspect is described as black man, 30 to 40 years old and six feet tall. He was wearing a tan hat, a white or tan long-sleeeved shirt, khaki shorts, white socks and white athletic shoes.

Anyone with information is asked to call police detectives at (916) 478-8060 or Crime Alert at (916) 443-4357. Callers to Crime Alert may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward.
