A suspicious box outside a Woodland classroom turned out not to be a danger.
Staff at Prairie Elementary, 1444 Stetson St., found the box on the ground about 8:15 a.m. today. Uncertain who put the box outside the classroom and not knowing what was inside, school employees summoned Woodland police.
Several classrooms were evacuated and the Yolo County bomb disposal team arrived to X-ray the box. Class resumed when it was discovered that the box only contained personal papers, according to a police press release.
