Lodi police said they have arrested a man for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl at knifepoint in a hotel.

John Ganoe, 44, pictured, who police said is a registered sex offender, was arrested on suspicion of lewd acts with a minor, rape and other sex crimes. His bail was set at $450,000.

Police said they apprehended Ganoe in Stockton after an arrest warrant was issued last week. A police press release said that Ganoe lured the teen to a hotel room in the 800 block of South Cherokee Lane on Wednesday. Once inside the room, Ganoe held her at knifepoint and sexually assaulted her overnight, police said.

She was eventually released. Lodi police said they spent about 100 hours actively investigating and searching for Ganoe until he was arrested Monday afternoon.
