Eric Brown (pictured) was taken into custody in Citrus Heights last week, accused of break-ins at Tim's Music Store in the 2800 block of Marconi Avenue, according to a Sacramento County Sheriff's Department news release. Sheriff's officials said he was identified through an anonymous caller who recognized him from surveillance video from the business.
About 12:30 a.m. May 2, sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a smashed window at Tim's Music Store, and determined that several musical instruments had been taken from the business. The following day, they were called to the same business about 10:15 p.m., where someone had again smashed a window to enter the business and steal several instruments. Sheriff's officials said the loss was estimated to be in the tens of thousands of dollars.
On May 7, Citrus Heights police received a call from someone who had seen Brown and recognized him from media coverage of the burglaries, according to the news release. After a brief foot pursuit, Brown was detained.
Sheriff's detectives responded to Citrus Heights and took Brown into custody.
