Man taken into custody at Sacramento police parking lot

Sacramento officers didn't have too far go to take a man into custody, confronting a subject at their own police station last night.

Police found the man about 9 p.m. standing near the closed front gate to the parking lot of the South Sacramento police station on Franklin Boulevard near Fruitridge Road. A police activity log said that the man might have been trying to get inside the lot.

When officers went up to him to talk, the man assumed a fighting stance, according to police. One officer used his baton to ultimately take him into custody.

Police said the man appeared to be under the influence of drugs. He was transported to the hospital for medical care.
