Rio Linda killing victim identified by coroner

The name of the man shot to death Friday night in Rio Linda has been released by Sacramento County Coroner's deputies.

He has been identified as Terrell Deandre Smith, 28, of Sacramento.

The shooting occurred about 10:15 p.m. at a home in the 6800 block of Radalyac Court. Sacramento County sheriff's deputies arrived to find Smith inside a residence with at least one gunshot wound to his upper body, according to reports. Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two men found at the home were detained for questioning. They reported to police that two or three vehicles were seen speeding away from the house after the shooting, though it was unclear if the occupants of the vehicles were related to the incident.

No suspects have been identified and the motive is still unknown. Anyone with information about Smith's killing is asked to contact the Sheriff's homicide detectives at (916) 874-5115.
