Sacramento motorist in disabled parking spot awakens to his arrest

A man parked in a space reserved for disabled drivers fell asleep in his vehicle, leading to attention from Sacramento police and his eventual arrest.

Officers noticed a vehicle parked at Elder Creek and Stockton Boulevard in a space reserved for the disabled about 11 a.m. Thursday. Police said no vehicle placard allowing use of such spaces was visible.

Inside the vehicle, Chris Murel Nesseth, 31, was seated in the driver's seat, sound asleep. A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up a loaded handgun and narcotics, police activity log shows.

Nesseth was booked into Sacramento County jail on gun and drug charges.
