Victim apparently robbed twice by same culprits

Two robbers held up a man and then apparently used the information in his wallet to go to his home where they stole weapons.

The man was in his car in the 5900 block of Bamford Drive in the Valley Hi neighborhood about 1:45 p.m. Monday when he was approached by two armed men. The driver was ordered out of his vehicle.

The men rifled through the driver's pockets, taking his car and house keys, wallet and cell phone before forcing him into the trunk of his own car. The robbers then fled on foot.

The robbery victim used a hatch release inside the trunk to free himself.

A short time later, officers got a call about a home invasion at the robbery victim's residence. According to a Sacramento police activity log, two men entered his home and struggled with his wife.

The two intruders ended up taking a handgun and a shotgun.
