A woman with a record of child molestation has been sentenced to 192 years in prison.
A Sacramento County jury last month convicted Rosemary Eusted, 40, of 17 counts of lewd and lascivious acts with force against a child under the age of 14. Sacramento Superior Court Judge Michael Kenny today sentenced her to 72 years plus 120 years to life in prison.
Eusted began continuously molesting two girls in November 1997 at her Rio Linda home, according to a Sacramento County District Attorney's Office news release. The victims were 6 and 7 years old at the time. They did not report the sexual abuse for several years out of fear of retaliation and further physical abuse, authorities said.
In May 2005, Eusted was convicted of two counts of child molestation in Placer County in a case involving different victims whose ages ranged from 5 to 10 years old. These victims testified in the Sacramento County case.
