A man has died from a injuries suffered when the car in which he was a passenger was shot up earlier this week in Foothill Farms.
The Sacramento County Coroner's website states that Ralph R. Squires, 34, of Camino, El Dorado County, was pronounced dead at 4:50 p.m. Thursday.
Squires had been taken to the hospital after a shooting incident the day before at around 3 a.m. on Roseville Road. Details of the shooting are sketchy.
Sacramento County Sheriff's Department spokesman Sgt. Jason Ramos said that deputies were called to Dream Court where Squires and two others ended up after the shooting. Citizens reported that the female driver of a BMW was yelling hysterically about somebody being shot and requesting help for her injured passengers.
When deputies arrived they found Squires clinging to life and a 39-year-old man with a leg wound in the car. Squires had been hit multiple times in the upper body. The other man is expected to live.
Deputies determined that the shooting happened not far away near Roseville Road and Tacomic Drive. Squires and the other man were shot by unknown suspects and the woman sped away with them inside the BMW to Dream Court.
Neither the woman nor the wounded man were very forthcoming with information about the shooting, Ramos said.
