Gang prevention meeting for Rancho Cordova parents

Parents can learn if their children are in gangs by attending a Rancho Cordova Police Department seminar on Thursday.

The meeting takes place from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Cordova High School gym, 2239 Chase Drive. The event is free.

Parents can learn to spot gang symbols and clothing, and also find out which gangs are exerting influence on Rancho Cordova youth.

Officers will also provide information on activities that provide a wholesome outlet for teens, such as the Police Athletic League and other after-school programs.
