Police announced that Salvador Fierro Jr. (pictured), 30, was taken into custody without incident about 4:30 this afternoon when he was found in the 1400 block of Edwards Circle.
Police were called about 9:15 p.m. Monday to a home at 1443 Edwards Circle where Fierro, 30, allegedly fought with his mother and stepfather. He was armed with a knife, police said.
First-arriving officers rendered medical aid to the two victims' stab wounds. Officers learned from witnesses that Fierro had fled back into the home after fighting with the stepfather in front of the house.
The house was surrounded, but later accounts from witnesses had Fierro on foot in the area. A house-to-house search was launched, aided by a police dog and a Sacramento City police helicopter crew.
Officers were unable to find Fierro. Woodland police SWAT officers forced entry into the Edwards Circle home, but Fierro was not there.
California State Parole and the Yolo County Sheriff's Department assisted Woodland police in the arrest.
