Tips from public credited for arrest in bike shop burglary

Brandon Lee Rose prpublichelp.pngEl Dorado County sheriff's officials say tips from the public led to an arrest and the recovery of property stolen last month from an El Dorado Hills bicycle shop.

Brandon Lee Rose (pictured), 40, was booked into El Dorado County Jail on Thursday, three days after the Sheriff's Office released photos captured by surveillance cameras of a suspect in the May 20 burglary of the Town Center Tri Center Bike and Tri shop. A bicycle and accessories with a total value of approximately $7,000 were taken in the burglary, according to a Sheriff's Office news release.

Based on information provided by the public following release of the surveillance photos, Detective Troy Morton was able to identify the suspect and obtain a search warrant for a location in Sacramento and another in West Sacramento, sheriff's officials said.

While serving the search warrant, Morton recovered the property stolen from the El Dorado Hills bicycle shop as well as stolen property from a crime committed in another jurisdiction.

Rose was arrested on suspicion of second-degree burglary and possession of stolen property.
