Trailers reported stolen from Woodland's city service center

Two trailers were stolen from the city of Woodland's Municipal Service Center over the weekend.

Police were dispatched about 7:30 this morning to the center at 655 N. Pioneer Ave. When officers arrived, they were notified that between 5 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. today, someone cut the chain-link gate to the property and stole two box trailers.

One of the trailers contained miscellaneous tools and roadway signs. That trailer and its contents were valued at $100,000, according to a Police Department news release. The other trailer was valued at $17,000.

Woodland police notified surrounding law enforcement agencies of the theft. Officials reported that one of the trailers was recovered by a Yolo County sheriff's deputy and returned to the city.

Police said they have no suspects in the theft and the investigation in continuing.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 661-7800.
