Arrest made in holdup on Galt street

Galt police quickly arrested a man last night after three citizens were held up on the street by a masked robber with a gun.

Police said that three people were walking at A and Second streets about 11:15 p.m. Thursday when they were approached by an armed man with a bandana hiding his face. He took cash from the victims and fled on foot.

The victims telephoned police with a good description of the robber and the direction he fled. Officers nearby saw someone running from the scene and detained him at gunpoint.

A firearm and the victim's money were recovered.

Zachary Rodriquez, 21, of Galt was booked into jail on suspicion of robbery and carrying a loaded weapon.
