Submitted by: Tra, Brentwood

ANSWER: Maurice Woodson is accused of killing his cellmate, 38-year-old Anthony Steadham, in December 2011 at California State Prison, Sacramento in Folsom.

A charge of murder has been filed in Sacramento Superior Court, and Woodson's next court date is Sept. 13, according to online court records. He remains in the prison.

Steadham was discovered in his cell at 3:10 a.m. in the prison's maximum-security housing unit, according to a story in The Bee. He was transported to an outside hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:04 a.m.

Steadham was serving a life sentence without possibility of parole for first-degree murder and had been admitted to the prison in 1997 from San Mateo County. Woodson had come to the prison in April 2011 from San Bernardino County. He is serving a 46-year-sentence for attempted second-degree murder.
