Yolo County sheriff's detectives have arrested two men in connection with the burglaries of two homes belonging to the same victims.
Ronald Steven McNair of Placerville and Matthew Lee Boyle of Sacramento were taken into custody Thursday after detectives from the Yolo and Placer county sheriff's departments executed a search warrant in the 4900 block of Gardenia Way in Sacramento. The search warrant was a result of a monthlong investigation into the burglaries of a home on Black Hawk Drive in Davis and that victim's vacation home in Soda Springs, according to a Sheriff's Department news release.
Investigators believe that information contained in the victim's laptop computer, taken in the first burglary, directed the suspects to the victim's vacation home. Both homes were ransacked, and the victims reported the theft of more than $50,000 in personnel property, including electronics, furniture, fine art and sterling silver. Sheriff's officials said several thousand dollars worth of property were recovered.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Yolo County sheriff's investigation unit at (530) 668-5212.
