Man arrested for beating dog to death in Sacramento

Aaron Cesena, 46.JPGA Sacramento man was arrested for allegedly beating his dog to death and throwing it in the garbage.

Aaron Cesena, 46, (pictured) was arrested Tuesday on a felony charge of suspicion of committing animal cruelty. His bail was set at $20,000.

Police were called to a residence in the 3200 block of 35th Avenue, near Fruitridge Road and Franklin Boulevard, about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. A caller from the home had told dispatchers that his drunken brother had beaten his dog and thrown it in the trash.

Officers found the dead dog and conducted an investigation that resulted in the arrest of Cesena.
