Man arrested on Auburn street on gun, drug charges

An Auburn police officer arrested a man on High Street who they say had a loaded handgun and drugs without a prescription.

Police officer Joe Almeida went up to Timothy Ryan Ody, 39, as he sat in a vehicle in the 500 block of High Street about 3 p.m. Monday. Almeida found that Ody had a semi-automatic handgun and prescription medications without having a prescription.

It was also determined, according to police, that Ody was affiliated with a street gang.

He was booked into Placer County jail on suspicion of having a loaded firearm, possession of a controlled substance and a gang enhancement.
