Police request public's help for decades-old cold case

The police are asking the public to help solve the case of a missing mother and her children that went cold 35 years ago.

In July 1978, Norma Hougland and her two children, Tommy and Ricky, went missing in Sacramento. After Hougland's family didn't hear from her for a week, they checked her apartment and found the family's belongings inside. No one police interviewed knew where she'd gone. Now, decades later, police are asking anyone who knows information about the case to come forward.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Sacramento Police Department Missing Person Unit at 916-808-0560.
