Rocklin police chase ends in three-car crash

A stolen car filled with juveniles crashed into two other vehicles as it sped away from Rocklin Police Sunday afternoon.

The chase started at about 4 p.m., after officers tried to pull the car over on Interstate 80 for a traffic violation, according to a press release from the Rocklin Police Department. When the officer turned his lights on the driver of the car sped away. A license plate check confirmed the vehicle was stolen.

Police chased the car onto the offramp on Douglas Boulevard, where it collided with two vehicles. The driver of the car tried to run away, but was soon arrested along with his two passengers.

The minors were treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. A driver of one of the cars that was struck also was taken to an area hospital.
