Roseville police arrest teen on suspicion of arson

Roseville police have arrested a teen on suspicion of setting a grass fire Wednesday.

The 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of setting the grass fire at about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday on then north side of South Cirby Way at Piedmont Way. Witness said they saw a boy light the fire and then run into a nearby apartment complex.

Firefighters quickly put out the small fire. An investigation is underway into the connection between the fire and other blazes, including a Maidu Park arson fire on June 21 that burned four homes and a gazebo and caused $1 million in damage.

Investigators believe that other juveniles are involved.
