Roseville police arrest Turlock pair in thefts from coin machines

patrias_cynthia_j.pngmiller_robert_jesse.pngRoseville police have arrested two Turlock residents suspected in a series of thefts from coin-operated machines that have occurred throughout the region in recent months.

Taken into custody were Cynthia J. Patrias (left photo) and Robert J. Miller (right photo), both 49. They were arrested on suspicion of grand theft, conspiracy and other related offenses.

Between June 14 and 21, Roseville officers responded to four thefts from coin-operated machines at a laundry on Folsom Road and at car washes on Eureka and Taylor roads and Pleasant Grove Boulevard. The suspects entered the businesses in the early morning hours, drilled the locks to the coin boxes and stole the coins, according to a Police Department news release.

Through interviews with witnesses, review of surveillance video and information gathered form other area law enforcement agencies, detectives identified a group linked to the thefts in Roseville and at least 14 similar thefts between February and June in Placer, Sacramento, El Dorado, Yuba and San Joaquin counties.

Police said charges are pending against two other suspects.
