Update: Police report suspect vehicle in Arden Fair shooting located

Sacramento police are searching for two Hispanic men who fled in a four-door Mitsubishi after a shooting in an Arden Fair Mall parking garage, according to authorities.

Police report that a vehicle believed to have been related to the shooting has been located, but no one has been taken into custody.

The men are described as 18 to 21 years old and wearing white t-shirts, said police Officer Michele Gigante.

No one was hurt.

The shooting occurred shortly before 3:30 p.m. on the first-floor of the parking garage outside Macy's, Gigante said. Inside the mall, the two victims and two suspects got into an argument, and the fight spilled outside to the parking garage.

At that point, one of the suspects pulled out a gun and fired at the two victims but missed, Gigante said. The suspects immediately fled the scene. An off-duty Sacramento police officer working security for the mall was the first to respond; others quickly joined him.

Gang detectives are on scene to assist officers in the investigation, Gigante said. Part of the parking garage is taped off.

Steve Reed, head of mall security, said officers are reviewing surveillance footage.

"There's usually not a place around here we don't get (on) video," he said, referring to the mall's extensive surveillance system.
