UPDATE: Advisory lifted for I-5 after hazardous material clean-up

I-5 spill.jpgThe California Highway Patrol reports that a stretch of northbound Interstate 5 between Highway 50 and Garden Highway is now clear following cleanup of a hazardous material spill.

A 100-ton crane was reported leaking oil or hydraulic fluid about 5:30 p.m. Hundreds of gallons had reportedly leaked, making the roadway slippery. Affected was the section of northbound Interstate 5 from the westbound Highway 50 interchange to Garden Highway.

The Sacramento Fire Department responded to the scene.
