Woodland police report that an investigation into recent thefts throughout Yolo County has resulted in two arrests and recovery of property associated with a dozen different cases, including thefts from the city's Public Works Department.
Police reported that two box trailers, including one containing miscellaneous tools, were stolen from the city's Municipal Service Center, 655 N. Pioneer Ave., between 5 p.m. June 22 and 7:30 a.m. June 24.
Investigators from the Yolo County Gang Task Force and the Yolo County Narcotics Enforcement Team conducted an investigation into these thefts as well as other recent thefts of property countywide.
The investigation led to the arrests of David McGuire, 29, of Woodland, and Calli Garcia, 30, a resident of unincorporated Yolo County, in connection with the thefts, according to a Police Department news release. Investigators also were able to recover tens of thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, including the majority of the property stolen from the city of Woodland.
So far, officials said, investigators have determined that the recovered property is associated with at least 12 different cases from the cities of Woodland and Davis.
McGuire and Garcia were booked into Yolo County Jail on suspicion of possessing stolen property.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone with information regarding the thefts is asked to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411. Callers can remain anonymous.
