Craigslist listed clubs determined stolen from Roseville golf course

jefferson_john_david.JPGPolice arrested a man after tracing clubs stolen from a golf course in Roseville.

Roseville police said that on July 24 someone took an unattended golf bag from outside the restaurant at Woodcreek Golf Course. The golfer later noticed his stolen golf clubs listed for sale on Craigslist.

The golfer notified the Roseville Police Department and officers investigated the online classified sale. Officers determined that the Craigslist seller had bought the clubs from another person not knowing they were stolen.

On July 30, officers searched a home on Sandburg Court and recovered more items stolen from the golfer. They arrested John David Jefferson, 30, of Roseville, on suspicion of grand theft, police said.
