UPDATE: Motorcylist dies in collision with van in Elk Grove

Elk Grove police are investigating a collision between a motorcycle and a van this morning in which a 52-year-old motorcyclist died.

Officers were called to the 8200 block of Laguna Boulevard at 7:55 a.m. and found that a minivan making a left turn from a designated turn lane on Laguna Boulevard had collided with a motorcycle that was westbound on Laguna, according to a Police Department news release. The motorcyclist was thrown from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. He has not been identified pending notification of family.

The driver of the minivan was not injured.

Anyone with information regarding the collision is asked to call the Elk Grove Police Department Traffic Bureau at (916) 478-8148.
