Jury finds Moore guilty in murder of Colusa ranch foreman

By Andy Furillo

A Sacramento Superior Court jury today convicted Paul Moore of first-degree murder in the July 16, 2011, bombing death of Roberto Ayala, the ranch foreman on the Moore Brothers rice farm in Colusa County.

The jury went out about 10:30 this morning and deliberated for less than five hours before returning the verdict against the 49-year-old defendant. The jury also found true the special-circumstance finding that Moore used an explosive device to kill Ayala, 43, while the victim was turning on an irrigation pump on the Colusa County ranch outside Grimes.
