Man dead after fall during fight in Sacramento County, authorities say

A 43-year-old man died last week as the result of injuries he sustained when he fell during an alcohol-fueled fight, according to authorities.

Akuen Saeteurn, 43, died Thursday, one day after the fight, said Sacramento County Sheriff's Sgt. Jason Ramos.

The Sacramento County Coroner's office classified Saeteurn's death as a homicide, and sheriff's homicide detectives are investigating. However, whether a crime was committed remains unclear.

Ramos said Saeteurn and another man were involved in a fight Wednesday night. During that fight, which involved alcohol, Saeteurn fell and hit his head.

The next morning, Saeteurn could not be woken, and paramedics were called to the 4200 block of E. Nichols Ave, near 16th Avenue. The Sheriff's Department later became involved.

Detectives have talked to the man involved in the fight with Saeteurn, and that person has been cooperative, Ramos said. He has not been arrested.

Ramos said detectives have referred the matter to the District Attorney's office, which will determine "whether there was any criminality on the part of the other person."
