Police: Babysitter may have given pot to 9-month-old

Sacramento police officers are investigating a case in which a 9-month old baby boy may have been given pot by his babysitter.

At 11:11 p.m. Saturday, police responded to Kaiser Permanente Hospital, 6600 block of Bruceville Road, on a report that a baby had been brought into the emergency room and had tested positive for THC, a chemical usually found in marijuana.

The mother had picked up her child from the babysitter and noticed that the baby was acting strangely, so the mother immediately brought him to the hospital.

Child Protective Services has been notified, and officers are continuing to investigate the case.
