Police seek possible witness in South Lake Tahoe killing

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is asking the public's help in identifying a man who may have information regarding the shooting death of a USA gas station clerk last week.

In the late afternoon or early evening of Aug. 5, the man was observed walking in the vicinity of the gas station, according to a Police Department news release. Detectives seek to identify the man shown in a video clip as a possible witness. He is described as a white man, with light brown or bond hair, wearing a light-colored polo shirt.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Police Department by calling (530) 542-6100, or online at A reward for information leading to solution of the case has been increased to $6,000 as a result of contributions by local business owners.
