Southern California pair accused of Placerville theft

Two Southern California residents were arrested early Wednesday, accused of stealing a trailer from a Placerville business.

Officers were dispatched at 12:37 a.m. to a report of a burglary in progress at Placerville Polaris. The reporting party told police that a truck left the business with a trailer.

Officers in the area stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Daniel Kinsley, 42, of Redondo Beach and the passenger as Shaunna Weiss, 30, of La Mirada. The two were found to be possessing burglary tools, according to a Police Department news release.

Police contacted representatives of Placerville Polaris, who reported the trailer as stolen. Officers also checked the Placerville Polaris site and found two generators that had been removed from the business' property. They discovered that a lock to a large fenced area on the property had been cut.

Kinsley and Weiss were booked into El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of vehicle theft and grand theft. According to online jail booking information, both have previous felony convictions.
