Suspect arrested in stabbing at Lincoln residence

A Lincoln man was arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon following a stabbing Sunday afternoon.

Lincoln police officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of F Street shortly before 6 p.m. regarding a stabbing that had just occurred. They were told that the suspect was still at the scene with a knife.

When officers arrived, they found a 25-year-old Lincoln man on the front porch of the home with a puncture wound to his abdomen, according to a Police Department news release. The suspect opened the front door of the residence, then tried to flee out the back of the home, police said.

Officers caught and detained the suspect inside the residence. He was identified as Rocco Gaffuri Jr., 20, of Lincoln, and was booked into Placer County Jail.

Police said the victim was treated by emergency medical personnel at the scene and indicated that he would seek further treatment on his own.
