Suspect sought in South Lake Tahoe bank robbery

SLT Bank Robber NO. 1 a.JPGSLT Bank Robber NO. 2 b.JPGSouth Lake Tahoe police seek to identify a suspect in the robbery of the El Dorado Savings ad Loan this morning.

The robbery occurred about 9:30 a.m. at 3443 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Based on surveillance footage, the suspect (pictured) appears to to be a white man in his 50s, approximately 6 feet, 2 inches tall, wearing a beige baseball cap, a short-sleeved plaid button-down shirt, khaki cargo shorts and flip-flop sandals, according to a Police Department news release.

The man walked into the bank and presented the teller with a demand note. He claimed to be armed but did not display a weapon, police said.

After receiving an undisclosed amount of money, the man walked out of the bank.

A possible suspect vehicle was seen driving away from the area. It was described as a 2000 to 2005 black four-door dual cab Dodge Ram pickup truck with a tool box in the bed. The truck turned westbound on Lake Tahoe Boulevard, heading away from the bank.

Anyone with information regarding the suspect is asked to call the South Lake Tahoe Police Department at (530) 542-6100.
