Antelope baseball snack shack burned by arsonist

A fire that heavily damaged a youth baseball snack shack in Antelope was set by an arsonist.

Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District firefighters responded to the Antelope Little League Baseball Field about 2:30 p.m. Sunday where a fire had spread from a portable restroom to the revenue-generating snack shack and an equipment building.

First-arriving crews extinguished flames in the interior of the snack shack, while other firefighters worked to put out fire on the exterior and the restroom.

Arson investigators believe someone intentionally set the restroom on fire. Damage was estimated at $20,000.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Sac Metro arson tip line at (916) 859-3775.
