Carjacking leads to arrests of two men in Citrus Heights

Two stolen vehicles were recovered by Citrus Heights police with the help of an alert citizen.

Police said that at 3 p.m. Saturday, two men in an SUV cornered a man in his car after a road rage incident near Lichen and Carmelwood Drive. Police said that they intimidated the man into giving up his Honda sedan.

An alert citizen saw what was happening and got the license plate number of the sport utility vehicle and provided the information to police. The SUV was reported stolen, police said.

Police found the SUV nearby and took David Issac, 33, into custody. Officers also found stolen property in the SUV.

Police eventually found the Honda being stripped in Carmichael. Christopher Long, believed by police to be the man who drove it from the scene of the earlier car-jacking, was arrested, according to a Citrus Heights police press release.

Police lauded the eye witness who provided information leading the arrests.

"The witness in this case kept a safe distance, obtained great information and alerted police in a timely manner," stated the press release.
