Deputies hit jackpot in casino parking lot: 16 pounds of marijuana

Two men were allegedly found in a Yolo County casino parking lot with a vehicle containing 16 pounds of marijuana.

At about 7:25 a.m. Thursday Yolo County Sheriff's deputies spoke with Cody Lee Shermantine, 22, of Citrus Heights and Dylan Thomas Bacon, 34, of Kelseyville in a parking lot of Cache Creek Casino Resort.

Deputies said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to a sheriff's department press release. A search of the vehicle turned up 1.41 grams of methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and the marijuana.

Shermantine was arrested on suspicion of transportation and possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bacon was arrested on suspicion of transportation of marijuana, possession of marijuana for sale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
