Fire discovered in attic of Roseville's Zocalo restaurant

Zocalo restaurant in Roseville was damaged Wednesday morning by a fire that was discovered burning in its attic.

Roseville Fire Department responded at 10:58 a.m. to a 911 call reporting smoke showing from the roof of a salon at the Fountains at Roseville shopping center. Upon further investigation, crews found an active structure fire in the attic of Zocalo.

Four fire engine and two ladder truck crews from the Roseville department along with units from Rocklin Fire Department were able to quickly extinguish the flames before the restaurant or building suffered significant damages, according to a Roseville Fire Department news release. The restaurant was closed to allow for cleanup activities.

No injuries were reported. Officials said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
