Man arrested for indecent exposure, burglary in Placerville break-in

Placerville police have arrested a man on suspicion of entering an apartment and undressing in the bedroom of a sleeping woman.

Tyler Mitchell, 32, was booked into El Dorado County Jail on suspicion of burglary, indecent exposure and violation of probation, according to a police press release.

When Mitchell turned himself in on Monday morning, police said they had been searching for him in connection with the incident at an apartment on Ray Lawyer Drive at about 3 a.m. the day before.

Police said that a man they identified as Mitchell entered the unlocked apartment occupied by a 29-year-old woman and her six-year-old child. The woman awoke to see a man undressing in her bedroom.

She demanded that he leave the apartment and she ran out of the bedroom. The woman knew Mitchell from prior contact at the apartment complex but had no personal relationship with him, police said.

Mitchell put clothes back on and left the apartment, according to the press release. The woman then reported the incident to police.
